Lay the largest case out flat, lay all the others on top of it, roll 'em up and you get a tight roll that stows away practically anywhere. No big piles of cases taking up room on stage or in the dressing room. When it's time to pack up, simply unroll 'em, set your first drum on the case, wrap it, cinch it and set it aside.
