When measuring circumference, it's a good idea to include any obvious hardware when wrapping the measuring tape around your drum, i.e.: a tom mount on your bass drum, or RIMS-style mounts. I designed DrumRolls to accomodate most hardware, so in most situations they'll fit fine based on your head size. If you're uncertain though, it's best to check the measurement or contact me, and I'll do my best to assist you in getting the right fit.

The depth measurements are assuming a minimum of 1.5" of overhang on each side of the case. For example, the SN14 snare case is 12" wide and would accomodate a snare up to 9" deep, leaving 1.5" on either side to cinch up. I've seen cases with less overhang used, but it gets a little too short for my taste, so I recommend at least 1.5" per side.

Additionally, the above measurements suggest a maximum of 4" of overhang on the larger sizes. You can get away with as much as 6" to 8", as in the case of a shallow bass drum like a 20" x 16", for example. It would have been a lot to cinch up with the old style DrumRolls cases, but it's actually quite easy with the new external drawstring.

Note: With 10", 12", 13" and 14" shallow toms like the Yamaha Hip-Gig kits, a snare case might work better than the deeper tom cases, as snare cases are 12" deep instead of the tom cases' 16" depth.
